The brief

The Council is seeking to appoint a Contractor to undertake Works to build extensions at four Council properties.

The planning and designs have already been prepared by a designer appointed by the Council and the designs and plans are contained in Schedule 6 of this tender to assist bidders with preparing and submitting tenders.

The Council’s appointed designer will assist the Council with any further design requirements and the Contractor shall only be required to undertake building works in accordance with approved plans and designs.

The contract will be for four extensions to existing council properties, summarised as: 1) 10 Longlands, Welwyn Garden City, Herts, AL7 3QB Extension, refurbishment and alteration of an existing property to facilitate the provision of an new accessible living and sleeping space.

2) 16 Windsor Road, Welwyn, Herts, AL6 9J Extension, refurbishment and alteration of an existing property to facilitate the provision of a new downstairs WC cloakroom facility.

3) 17 Broadfield, Woolmer Green, Knebworth, Herts, SG3 6LZ The extension, refurbishment, alteration and adaptation to provide additional living facilities including but not limited to; complete extension, external landscaping, kitchen alterations, bathroom or wetroom alterations, refurbishment of existing spaces.

4) 137 Boundary Lane, Welwyn Garden City, Herts, AL7 4EQ Extension, garage conversion refurbishment and alteration of an existing property to facilitate the provision of a new accessible wetroom, living and sleeping space.
