The brief

The planned procurement shall provide in-service support for Main Circulating Water Pumps (MCWPs) on board naval submarines.

The primary body of work required will be the repair and refurbishment of existing pumps, for which it is essential that bidders either own or have unlimited access to a pump testing facility.

Additionally, suppliers must have the storage capabilities to potentially accommodate several MCWPs at one time, as well as the supply-chain network to source its own parts and materials.

This procurement is not anticipated to include within its scope the manufacture and purchase of new pumps.

Potential suppliers must have the suitably qualified and experienced personnel to produce technical reports associated with health checks and strip and surveys, and the surveying capabilities to accurately estimate the cost and lead time of repairing pumps to an A1 standard.

This procurement will be for a minimum 5-year contract term.

The contract shall be competed under Procurement Act 2023 regulations and will be subject to the competitive flexible procedure.
