This is a chargeable service, payable annually by households, above and beyond our statutory duty to collect recyclables and residual waste from every property in the district.
The subscription period for garden waste is from 1 April each year.
For financial year 2024/2025, there were approximately 32,000 households subscribing to the scheme.
Subscribers are actively encouraged to renew subscriptions via renewal reminder letters, where SKDC does not hold an email address.
Households subscribing to the scheme are provided with a sticker to affix to the back of their garden waste bins, as a visible indication of their membership.
The Council is looking for competent and experienced supplier to provide the printing and posting of garden waste stickers and supporting services around renewal letter invitations.
