The brief

This service will contribute to many of the commitments identified within each of the 6 themes in the Barnsley All Age Autism Strategy.

It is directly applicable to commitment 4.3: ‘We will develop a range of support from pre to post diagnosis for autistic children, young people, adults [18-25 years old], and their families’.

And commitment 4.4 states ‘We will explore other models such as joint assessments, to improve the assessment and diagnosis experience of people with Autism and additional needs i.e.

ADHD or Learning Disabilities.

There is potential scope for future expansion of this service.

However, there are no guarantees that these developments will occur.

This may include, but is not limited to: • Extending support, resources and training to /support staff working with Neurodiverse individuals across different settings e.g. supported living. • Providing tailored support for parents/carers of children under 12 years old.

Any future developments will be informed by service evaluation and emerging needs within the Barnsley community.
