University Hospitals Dorset Pre Market Engagement & Framework Registration - Geothermal Projects
This is a large award for Engineering & Architecture — above three-quarters of comparable contracts. Based on 33,646 valued Engineering & Architecture tenders in our corpus.
This Planned Procurement Notice is issued to inform the market that University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust intends to use the Crown Commercial Service RM6313 Demand Management & Renewables DPS to procure a source of geothermal energy early 2026, and to bring it to the markets attention that at this time a number of NHS Trusts across UK-England also intend to bring forward a programme of approximately 5–20 potential geothermal projects through the Crown Commercial Service RM6313 Demand Management & Renewables DPS over the coming 24 months.
University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust is publishing this PPN to signal its own intended use of the DPS and, for supplier awareness and to provide early market visibility of the anticipated wider national pipeline of projects that may be brought forward independently by other NHS Trusts across England.
Estimated contract value of the University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust is: Up to £25,000,000 (ex VAT).
For supplier awareness only, the wider national pipeline of geothermal projects that other NHS Trusts may bring forward could represent a multiple of this sum dependent on the number of installations procured, possibly up to an estimated combined value of £350,000,000 (ex VAT).
University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust has no responsibility for, and makes no commitment regarding, any procurement undertaken by other Trusts.
Each NHS Trust will conduct its own specific procurement as and when appropriate.
The programme is being coordinated with procurement administration support from the Carbon and Energy Fund (CEF).
Each NHS Trust will launch its own individual Crown Commercial Service RM6313 DPS Further Competition and award its own contract.
The purpose of this notice is solely to: • raise early market awareness of expected geothermal procurements; • encourage capable suppliers to apply to join RM6313 in advance to enable them to participate; and • support strong competition and supplier preparedness.
No documents, or technical information will be issued at this stage.
