MEP Engineering Consultant for the New Wing

The National Gallery is appointing a Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) Engineering Consultant with the capability and capacity to design and support the delivery of building services for a new wing to the Gallery, located on Trafalgar Square in central London.
The contract will cover RIBA stages 1 - 7.
The role of the MEP Consultant will include, as a minimum: • Lead and coordinate Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health engineering design inputs in support of the project brief and architectural intent. • Develop MEP design information appropriate to each RIBA stage, including calculations, reports, drawings, schematics, schedules, specifications/performance requirements and coordination information. • Coordinate MEP interfaces with the Architect, other engineers, specialist designers and the wider project team, including interfaces with existing services and live operational constraints. • Support statutory and technical approvals, including Building Regulations compliance and relevant authority engagement, and provide technical input to planning / heritage submissions where required. • Support procurement activities, tender queries, design development during contractor procurement, and respond to technical clarifications. • Provide construction-stage support including responses to RFIs, inspections as required, review of contractor design (where applicable), commissioning support, witnessing and sign-off activities, and support to handover, soft landings and defects.
