The brief

Gloucestershire County Council is seeking to procure up to 20 Pathway 2 Beds within CQC registered nursing care homes located in Gloucester.

These beds will support people who no longer require acute hospital care but need short term, outcome focused nursing support before returning home.

The Council is seeking high quality nursing care provision delivered within established care homes that can demonstrate strong clinical oversight, safe staffing levels, and effective multidisciplinary working to support timely discharge pathways, along with their own or commissioned therapy (OT and/or Physio) and a dedicated GP to support the beds.

Providers will be able to submit tenders for: Tenderers must submit all the requirements and documents stated in section 7 of the invitation to tender document. • A minimum of 5 beds • Up to a maximum of 20 beds. • Contract start date (estimated) estimated - 1st July 2026 • Contract end date without any extension - 30th June 2028 • The total estimated value of a block contract for five beds is £619,500 for the initial two-year term, rising to £1,241,000 over four years if the optional two year extension is taken, subject to demand and available funding.

Initial contract length is 2 years, plus a further two years subject to demand and available funding.
