The brief

Assessment of historic environment provision and advice in Defra’s Landscape Recovery scheme.

Scope Assessment of historic environment provision and advice in Defra’s Landscape Recovery scheme.

The requirement The contractor will design and undertake a survey of key stakeholders in current LR projects to understand what activities relating to the historic environment had been undertaken during project development (not limited to: assessments undertaken, specialist advice sought, community engagement undertaken, plans for monitoring developed, and proposals developed for implementation funding).

The survey will consider how and to what extent the activities have contributed to the LR project development.

The survey will also engage with historic environment providers (contractors and curators) to understand how they have interacted with LR projects.

The contractor should also make provision for six follow up interviews with stakeholders/providers identified during the survey.

Findings will be collated into a report summarising the experiences and needs of all parties involved in LR, with recommendations for and examples of good practice.

Other requirements to be taken into consideration The survey will be developed in conjunction with a steering group of representatives from Historic England, National Trust and Defra ALBs.
