The brief

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (the "Authority") delivers acute hospital services across two major district general hospitals: Gloucestershire Royal Hospital (GRH) and Cheltenham General Hospital (CGH).

The Authority provides healthcare services to a population of approximately 641,000 residents, spanning seven locality areas: South Cotswolds, North Cotswolds, Cheltenham, Forest of Dean, Gloucester, Tewkesbury, and Stroud & Berkeley Vale.

This Preliminary Market Engagement (PME) relates to the transfer, handling, storage and/ or final disposition of deceased individuals of all ages, including adults, children, infants, neonates, stillbirths and foetal remains, across all Authority Sites.

The services must be delivered in a manner that is responsive to the needs of the deceased and Family Representatives, and upholds the highest standards of dignity, respect, and sensitivity.

This services encompasses the following key components: • Transport of Deceased Patients. • Hospital Funeral Services. • Foetal Cremation Services. • Storage for Deceased Persons under Special Circumstances.

Additional Services (as required): • Internal Collection and Transfer of Deceased. • Provision of Additional Surge Mortuary Capacity.

This PME seeks to notify the market of an upcoming procurement and invite expressions of interest from potential suppliers for structured PME activities.

These include completion of a supplier questionnaire and attendance at virtual information and feedback session
