Fountain Lake Jetty - Main works contract

Project Need • Fountain Lake Jetty (FLJ) was constructed circa 1950/60 for the Royal Navy's escort and supporting vessel fleet. • It provides key tidal berths at the perimeter of the designated Fleet Time Maintenance Hub. • Now at the end of its life, FLJ requires replacement to support the new fleet of escorts that are vital to support the Carrier Strike Group.
The new vessels are larger than their predecessors. • Fleet operations initially require two tidal maintenance berths on FLJ increasing to three at completion.
Project Description Demolition. • Fountain Lake Jetty is approx.
660m long / 42m wide.
The main construction activities include: o o o o o o Replacement piled jetty.
Dredging (berth pocket and approaches).
Replacement buildings.
Replacement of all supporting services (water, power, comms etc).
Flood defence works.
