Provision of Masters in Public Health (MPH) Course - York University
This is a contract result notice, not an open opportunity. Details from the official award data.
The procurement contact named on the official notice.
To facilitate our newly appointed Public Health Registrars to undertake Masters based qualifications, an essential part of the Specialty Training Programme, which is delivered over 5 years.
This will be facilitated by the York University.
Essentially, a similar BC was produced for the very same purpose two years ago.
This facilitated the issuing of Contract: C304421.
This contract was then extended by one year in 2025.
However, colleagues in Commercial Contracts have confirmed that there is no clause to allow a further extension.
The 1st year of training is spent doing the MPH, supported by experience within a local authority.
Without completion of the MPH, the Registrar is unable to complete the remainder of their training, which is a mandatory curriculum requirement (Faculty of Public Health).
Once Public Health training is complete, individuals are eligible for specialist registration via the relevant professional body.
They can then apply for consultant-level posts in local authorities, the NHS or other settings.
This qualification can only be delivered by two HEIs within the YH region - University of Sheffield and York University.
The funding is from a cost code already devolved internally.
So, no ‘new’ monies are required.
