The brief

Salisbury City Council is seeking to appoint a contractor to provide a Reactive Maintenance and Repair service relating to its property portfolio.

Reactive maintenance items are those which comprise day to day emergency repairs together with short term items to rectify immediate problems, e.g. leaking taps, heating boiler faults, blocked drains, faulty lights and sockets and locks not functioning etc.

All works will be undertaken in a relatively small geographical area covering Salisbury City Council boundaries only.

The works will include all aspects of repairs and Maintenance and specifically will include: • Electrical repairs (faulty lighting, switches, sockets, loss of electrical supply). • Plumbing - water leaks, blocked drains/toilets/urinals, replacement of toilet seats etc.). • Heating – Boiler servicing and repair (oil and Gas) heating too hot/cold, faulty heaters/radiator valves etc.) • Joinery repairs to door/windows, locks, handles, hinges and minor repair of other fixed items. • Painting and Decorating - All aspects. • Miscellaneous minor glazing and boarding up works, minor ground works e.g. fitting of bases for park benches, laying of paving slabs etc.

The initial contract period is for three years.

There is the potential to extend the contract by a further year, this will be at the discretion of the council.

The Council is undertaking an open Procurement Process that requires interested contractors to contact the council with an expression of interest.
