The brief

Since 2020 St Helens Borough Council has piloted a Supported Lodgings service for our young people leaving care age 16/17 (up to 24 in certain circumstances).

The pilot is due to end September 2023.

It is our priority to make sure children and young people have a good start in life and benefit from a safe and stable placement into adulthood.

We aim to continue to improve the current offer for young people transitioning from care and to provide appropriate support as they move into adulthood.

As part of our offer to young people leaving care and for young people seeking asylum we now seek to test the local market for Supported Lodgings Services to ensure we are obtaining best value for the service going forward.
