Supply Chain Notice: BLD0127-50 NAS Roof, Plant Room Replacement
This project will comprise building fabric and structural remedial works to the operational NAS Building.
The concrete framed building was constructed circa 1977 and houses offices, welfare, etc.
The building is rectilinear on plan measuring circa 73 m x 98 m and is of two-storeys in height typically, with flat roofs covering the whole footprint.
This project's objective is to undertake: - Removal and renewal (i.e. complete replacement) of an existing flat roof system (coverings, membranes, and insulation) from structural slab level, including to roof level plant room, and completion of all other associated permanent and temporary works. - The refurbishment of plant room façade and structure where necessary and completion of all other associated permanent and temporary works. - The installation of PV to principal roof areas and completion of upgrades to existing electrical infrastructure to allow connection of PV array. - The repair of existing concrete slab where spalling is occurring and where additional defects are found following stripping of existing covering.
By way of summary, the scope of work will include (but is not limited to): - Surveys to facilitate the design phase. - The development of existing RIBA 2 concept design and PV study to provide complete a RIBA 3 Spatially Coordinated Design (incl. obtaining Planning Permission for proposals as necessary). - Development of RIBA 3 design to provide complete RIBA 4 Technical Design for all works. - Undertaking Stages RIBA 5 and RIBA 6 (Construction and Handover) for all works. - Performing the responsibilities and duties of Designer and Contractor under CDM Regulations.
