(NU/1076) The Supply and Installation of Three Liquid Handling Robots
This is a contract result notice, not an open opportunity. Details from the official award data.
This is a large award for Laboratory & Precision Equipment — above three-quarters of comparable contracts. Based on 9,869 valued Laboratory & Precision Equipment tenders in our corpus.
This tender is a call-off on the APUC Framework Agreement BA-LAB045 for Liquid Handling Robots.
There are 3 lots.
Lot 1: Liquid Handling Robot for the Transfer of Micro-organisms This liquid handling robot will be used within a faculty-wide facility in the FMS.
The facility is managed by dedicated staff with expertise in robotics to assist other users.
The robot will primarily be used for the transfer of micro-organisms from liquid cultures to solid agar plates and from liquid cultures to glycerol stocks for long term storage.
The unit will also serve as backup for mammalian cell screening.
Lot 2: Liquid Handling Robot for Next-Generation Sequencing library preparation and sample processing This liquid handling robot will be used within the Newcastle University Single Cell Functional Genomics Unit (NUSCU), a faculty wide facility based within the FMS.
The robot will operate in a single cell low template copy number environment and will be used to support sample processing for next-generation sequencing including target enrichment (for example Illumina based methods and Agilent SureSelect and Haloplex and library preparation).
Lot 3: Liquid Handling Robot for post-PCR sample clean-up and high throughput liquid handling This liquid handling robot will be used within the NUSCU.
The robot will operate in a general lab and will be used to support routine high through-put liquid handling tasks including post-PCR sample clean-up, dilution, cherry picking and aliquoting.
