Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service (GFRS) would like to explore and develop and understanding around the concept of Positive Action for rural communities and On-call stations.
We are seeking a sector specialist who have knowledge a Fire and Rescue Service especially with On-call Stations.
We are working towards a strict timeframe.
It is key that the delivery of workshops take place accordance to working patterns across all on-call watches. • 18 Workshops • Locations: Gloucestershire County • Starting 12 August - 19 September 2024 (Dates Confirmed) • Drill Nights - 18.00 -21.00hrs (2-hour duration) (start times vary) The Positive Action will enable GFRS to achieve the aim of employing a workforce that is representative of the communities that we serve, it is important to recognise that we will need to encourage applications from under-represented for jobs within Gloucestershire fire and rescue services.
By using positive action initiatives and by providing a range of support mechanisms early in the firefighter recruitment process, we can help applicants to be more likely to succeed.
We are looking to develop a co facilitation model which delivers face to face workshops within a committed timeframe to build the capacity of understanding of positive action across the service.
These workshops will focus on Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue On-call Stations.
Areas of development to include: • How does Positive Action support the demographic of rural communities? • What is rural Positive Action within the context of - Response, Prevention, Protection & • Employment & what are we already doing? • What can I do to support Positive Action? • What can our On-call watch/station/team do? • What further support do I/we need? • What does great look like in terms of On-call Positive Action service delivery & employment? • Undertake evaluation of sessions/recommend next steps & produce report.
