The brief

The Isle of Wight NHS Trust has purchased the former HMV and Poundland building at 62 High Street in Newport town centre.

This will become an Integrated Locality Health & Wellbeing Hub, bringing together community physical and mental health services for people living in the Central and West locality, which includes Newport, Cowes, and the West Wight.

It will also house other teams, such as the MH Single Point of Access, and provide clinical treatment rooms offsite from St Mary's.

The hub design includes space for a café at the front of the building.

The intention is that this provides an open, modern and welcoming space as people enter the building, which does not feel like a typical NHS outpatient clinic.

We are looking to secure a partner to run the café in collaboration with the NHS Community & MHLD secondary care provider.

It is essential that the café offers social benefits and helps the building feel part of the Newport community.

The café should be run on behalf of the Trust, with a shared ethos and set of principles.

The contract term will be three years with the option to extend for a further two years (in one year increments)
