The brief

The University of Sheffield, Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), Nuclear Manufacturing Group based at Catcliffe, Rotherham, is seeking to purchase a replacement Tilt and Rotate 2-Axis Positioner for the Cyan-tec laser welding cell.

The new positioner is required for work manipulation and welding of large components up to 3m3 with the ability to maintain constant welding speeds up to 2m/min along complex toolpaths.

The Cyan-tec disk laser welding machine currently installed within the Nuclear Manufacturing Group (NMG), has had its original two-axis positioner, which was originally supplied with the machine at installation, removed.
