The brief

The council operates one Household Waste & Recycling Centre located in the southeast part of the city with a throughput during 2017-18 in excess of 7,000 Tonnes.

The service operates seven days a week 52 weeks a year with the exception of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years day, all other Bank Holidays the site is expected to remain open, and the contractor should refer to 'Normal Opening Hours at 4.18.0 for contract requirements around this point.

The site accepts a wide range of materials for recycling and disposal from the public and various charitable organisations as well as from the Waste collection authority (WCA).

This site does not operate any form of permit / restriction on residents' legitimate use.

Tenders are invited for the supply of services in respect of Household Waste & Recycling Centre (HWRC) management & operation.

The successful supplier will be responsible for providing this service, liaising closely with the Contract Manager at Nottingham City Council.

The Council is committed to providing high quality, value for money services and will evaluate each Tender accordingly.

The Council is seeking a Contract arrangement that will be able to adapt and respond to changes in HWRC Services (quality and quantity of Recyclable Materials and Wastes, and sustainability).
