The brief

This is not a call for competition and is not yet a contract opportunity. ** PLEASE NOTE: By Expressing an Interest in this event via the portal you are not confirming your place at the Market Engagement event.

Please follow the instructions below to reserve your place. ** Provision of Healthwatch Somerset Somerset County Council (SCC) is seeking interest from organisations, including community groups, that would like to manage and co-ordinate Healthwatch Somerset.

Healthwatch Somerset is the local health and social care consumer champion and as such represents all customers of these services and the general public, who may themselves be future customers.

A key requirement of Healthwatch Somerset is to engage in particular with those who are vulnerable or often unheard.

Healthwatch Somerset is a member of the Somerset Health and Wellbeing Board and will champion the views of all customers and the general public at a strategic level to local health and social care commissioners and providers, and to Healthwatch England in order to improve services.

Healthwatch will be accountable to local customers of health and social care services, the general public and SCC in terms of the performance of its role and value for money.

SCC is intending to run a procurement process in early 2017.

Market Engagement Event SCC is holding a Market Engagement event on Friday 18th November 2016 and is inviting organisations that might consider taking part in this process.

The event will enable a dialogue about the future service between SCC and any interested organisations.

Due to the venue size, we ask that no more than one representative attend from each organisation.

Organisations that take part will not be advantaged or disadvantaged in any way in any potential future formal procurement.

Commercial confidentiality will be respected.

This notice does not represent a formal commitment by the Council to undertake a procurement procedure.
