The brief

The aim of the Community Infection Prevention Control (CIPC) Service is to protect the health of the Liverpool population through the reduction of infection spread within key community settings; driving up standards in IPC practice; the reduction of health and care-associated infections; the reduction of the need for antimicrobials; outbreak preparedness and prevention; and incident and outbreak response.

The aim will be delivered through provision of a comprehensive, high-quality evidence-based infection control service in the community which protects the public and has a people-centred approach.
