The brief

Malvern Hills District Council invited Tenders from Potential Consultants on behalf of the South Worcestershire Councils (SWC) i.e.

Malvern Hills District Council, Worcester City Council and Wychavon District Council for the provision of a Retail and Centres Study.

The Retail and Centres Study is required to cover the area of south Worcestershire and provide robust evidence, which clearly informs the review of the SWDP.

The SWDP review is seeking to balance the area's future needs for retail, housing and employment growth with its environmental limitations.

The SWC require a Retail and Centres Study to provide a comprehensive and up-to-date assessment of current and future need for additional retail and leisure floor space across south Worcestershire during the period to 2041.

The Study should be capable of disaggregating need on an individual town centre and authority basis and fulfil the requirements as set out in the project methodology set out in the quality criteria section below and in the Consultant's Proposal.
