The brief

The purpose of this Preliminary Market Engagement (PME) is to seek input from potential suppliers within the market, to establish how the Council without disruption to the ITS infrastructure, can maintain the back haul circuits for 4 local authorities.

We currently manage a network of BT Etherflow circuits to support remote control of traffic signals, CCTV and VMS from the Urban Traffic Control Centre.

A series of backhaul circuits are installed from the communications data centre in Civic centre Wolverhampton to remote sites across the Black country area.

These circuits provide the backbone to key locations and a mesh infrastructure links co-located infrastructure from the backhaul.

We are looking for suppliers that can provide the same level of communication for the backhaul whist retaining the existing onward infrastructure.

Some of the sites using the backhaul are critical and require 24/7 automatic fault monitoring to ensure that any faults are known immediately with the customer being notified any faults simultaneously and faults must be rectified within 8 hours.
