The Service aims to promote the rights of CYP through the provision of effective and independent children's rights and advocacy services, and in accordance with the National Standards for the Provision of Children's Advocacy Services.
The Service will provide independent and confidential support to the CYP.
The purpose of the Independent Visitor Service is to manage the recruitment, training and matching of volunteer 'befrienders' for CYP who are looked after (CLA) by Lancashire County Council in line with requirements set out in the relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
The Independent Visitor's functions are to visit, advise and befriend the CYP.
The way these functions are carried out will vary according to the needs and wishes of the individual CYP.
