The brief

**This opportunity is on behalf of NHS Southport & Formby CCG and NHS South Sefton CCG ** Reaching Crossens in the north to Bootle in the south, Sefton is surrounded by Lancashire to the north and east, Liverpool to the south and the Irish sea to the west.

Sefton as a whole has a population IRO 280,000.

There are pockets of both severe deprivation and extreme wealth and earnings are 14% below the weekly national average.

52% of the population are female and 1 in 5 of the total population is 65 and over.

Sefton’s health care is commissioned by Southport and Formby CCG and South Sefton CCG with a Sefton MBC providing social care for the whole area.

The aim of the community dermatology service is to continue to deliver a local, accessible, high quality community service, while ensuring a clinically safe and cost effective service is achieved for the management of patients with a range of both acute and chronic skin diseases.

Based in a number of locations across Sefton, the current community dermatology service delivers consultant led dermatology care through local GP specialists.

While this is has been a successful model, alternatives to delivery will be considered in the procurement.

Key to the future success of the service will be the ability to work in an integrated dermatology service across Merseyside which the 2 CCGs are developing with Liverpool CCG.

This contract will be an initial 3-year contract with the option to extend for a further 1 x 2-year period.
