The brief

In order to meet the requirements of the Domestic Abuse Bill, we need new research to understand the extent to which those using contact centres in England, are protected from the risk of domestic abuse or, in the case of children, other harm.

Given the likely value of the contract we anticipate that appointing a contractor via the LVPS is the best approach to delivering this work.

The research will provide an overview of the current safeguarding arrangements of child contact centres and an assessment of whether current processes adequately protect those at risk of domestic abuse and harm.

The report will also provide recommendations for change, should this be appropriate.

Further, it will provide information on the non-accredited child contact provision, which is currently lacking.

This will provide useful evidence on whether or not there is a need for a statutory obligation for contact centres to be accredited.
