Highways England is a Government company charged with operating, maintaining and improving England’s motorways and major A roads, including modernising and maintaining the highways in England.
Highways England has procured two framework agreements (in 2 lots) to provide a stopped vehicle detection (SVD) solution to detect individual stopped vehicles in live lanes on smart motorways all lane running sections of the Strategic Road Network (SRN) motorways in England.
The SVD solution will enable early intervention and the setting of road signals that notify road users of the presence of the stopped vehicle.
Lot 2 relates to the provision of technology solutions as further described below.
