The brief

In response to the introduction of the new Domestic Abuse Act, Medway Council is looking to commission a service to provide a Domestic Abuse, Dispersed, Safe Housing and Support model in the Medway Area.

This dispersed, safe model will sit alongside Medway’s established refuge provision and will provide both accommodation and support to survivors of domestic abuse, and where applicable their children.

Dispersed accommodation provides a local safe option that would cater for people with complex needs, male survivors, survivors with emotional support animals and pets, larger family units, those with male children over 16 years old.

This commission calls for 15 to 20 units/beds of local (in the Medway area) dispersed accommodation.

We are looking for the units proposed primarily to be flexible (i.e., where required able to be rotated) and self-contained.

A variety of property options is preferable and could be a mix of 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom properties.

This commission can include a small proportion of shared units (HMO) for same sex placements.
