The brief

The Authority is responsible, under the Immigration Act 1971, the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999, the Nationality Immigration and Asylum Act 2002, the Immigration Act 2014 and the Illegal Migration Act 2023 for detaining and/or enforcing the removal of certain persons (Detainees).

Due to the unprecedented rise of small boat crossings in recent years, demand on the IRC estate has increased and there is a requirement for the expansion of its capacity.

This notice covers the procurement of operational services for an additional c1000 detention spaces across three sites.

Alternative accommodation solutions are also being explored and, if approved, may lead to further demand for operational services.

The content of this PIN, including the nature of works, services and estimated value, may be subject to change.
