The brief

The overarching aim of the service is to, • improve wellbeing, resilience, independence, and social inclusion for neurodiverse adults through high-quality peer support. • reduce demands on the wider system and promote independence for people with Autism or ADHD, thus reducing longer-term dependencies and support people to live with their condition.

To achieve these aims the provision will provide a service that offers an initial, easy to access support network which enables early intervention and support for those individuals who believe they have a neurodevelopmental condition such as Autism or ADHD regardless of whether an assessment has been completed.

Key outcomes from this service for neurodiverse adults are to: • Reduce loneliness and social isolation through engagement with peer support and wider social networks • Increase self-confidence and emotional wellbeing of neurodiverse adults regardless of formal diagnosis • Support people to manage their presenting needs through improved access to information, advice, guidance and community resources for people who need it • Support improved coping strategies for daily living and transitions • Enable neurodiverse adults to influence local services and systems • Promote strengths-based approaches
